New UCLA football coach Jim Mora Jr. has decided not to choose his quarterback until August 16 according to the LA Times, two weeks before the Bruins' opening game at Rice.
The race is primarily between seniors-to-be Richard Brehaut and Kevin Prince. But redshirt freshman Brett Hundley might spoil the party for the seniors.
Another longshot for the position include Jerry Neuheisel, the son of former UCLA coach Rick Neuheisel.
Not choosing a quarterback until Fall is a smart decisions because it prevents an early transfer.
It also gives Coach Mora and offensive coordinator Noel Mazzone more practices, scrimmages, and films to evaluate.
Hopefully the starting quarterback gives the Bruins a good foundation on offense.
